Teachers, staff, and parents let their inner artist shine during the “Painting & Pinot Night” held at Bistro St. Germain in Seal Beach. Participants who bid on the event at this year’s Auction were led through a painting of a classic art piece, while they enjoyed wine, food, and good times with friends.

During the last Faculty meeting, teachers attended an iPad training where they were introduced to a few new iPad apps they could incorporate into their daily teaching practice to enrich student learning.

Our program provides young students with an opportunity to learn through discovery and play in a nurturing Christ-centered environment. A child must be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the academic year he/she is seeking admission.

Students in Grades 7-8 stunned judges at this year's Science Fair. Students engage in the inquiry process and presented their hypothesis, data, and conclusions articulately to the judges.

A group of St. Hedwig students participated in the Jr. High Academic Decathlon. This is an academic competition where schools compete in teams of ten with specialists in eight specific subjects. We are proud to announce our academic decathletes went home with five medals in the subjects of Religion, English, Literature, Science, and Math.

We are proud to announce the implementation of the ST Math program in Grades Kindergarten through three. Students learn math concepts through interactive games by guiding Jiji, the penguin through various obstacles and paths. This visual learning tool is individualized and allows students to move through each learning objective at his/her own pace.

After attending a professional development on Thinking Maps, all teachers will be teaching our students how to organize their thoughts and learning in these eight different maps. Each map is based on one of the eight different cognitive processes students use and allow for higher-level thinking.

Students put gratitude in action by donating toys to military children, gifts for the elderly and toiletries for the homeless.
