iPad Training for Teachers

During the last Faculty meeting, teachers attended an iPad training where they were introduced to a few new iPad apps they could incorporate into their daily teaching practice to enrich student learning.

Science Fair is a Success!

Students in Grades 7-8 stunned judges at this year's Science Fair. Students engage in the inquiry process and presented their hypothesis, data, and conclusions articulately to the judges.

St. Hedwig Students Place in This Year's Academic Decathlon

A group of St. Hedwig students participated in the Jr. High Academic Decathlon. This is an academic competition where schools compete in teams of ten with specialists in eight specific subjects. We are proud to announce our academic decathletes went home with five medals in the subjects of Religion, English, Literature, Science, and Math.

Enriching our Math program with ST Math and JiJi the Penguin

We are proud to announce the implementation of the ST Math program in Grades Kindergarten through three. Students learn math concepts through interactive games by guiding Jiji, the penguin through various obstacles and paths. This visual learning tool is individualized and allows students to move through each learning objective at his/her own pace.

Teachers Attend Thinking Maps Training to Enhance Student Learning

After attending a professional development on Thinking Maps, all teachers will be teaching our students how to organize their thoughts and learning in these eight different maps. Each map is based on one of the eight different cognitive processes students use and allow for higher-level thinking.
