What forms are needed to apply?
All applicants must submit:
- Birth certificate (required)
- Baptismal certificate (if Catholic)
- Immunization records (required)
- St. Hedwig School follows the State of California’s requirements for student immunizations. All admitted students, including TK/K and transfer students, are required by California State law to have the following immunizations:
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTap, DTP, Tdap, or Td) – 5 doses
- Polio (OPV or IPV) – 4 doses
- Hepatitis B – 3 doses
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses
- Varicella (Chickenpox) – 2 doses
- Tdap (7th Grade and Older)
- St. Hedwig School follows the State of California’s requirements for student immunizations. All admitted students, including TK/K and transfer students, are required by California State law to have the following immunizations:
- Recent report card & standardized test scores required for 1st – 8th grades (State/iReady/Star)
- IEP or 504 Plan (if applicable)
Note: A complete student file is required before moving to screening. Every new student is on academic and behavioral probation for their first year.
Is there an application fee?
Yes, a non-refundable $77 per child is due at submission. This includes evaluation and screening. A paid fee does not guarantee acceptance.
What kind of assessment is given?
- TK/K: Readiness screening
- Grades 1–8: Reading/Comprehension, Math, Writing
Note: Plan for about 1 hour. After testing, all files are thoroughly reviewed by faculty and the principal.
Do you accept persons of other faiths?
Yes — all are welcome.
Dependent on space, admissions priority is as follows:
- Current families
- Registered parishioners (with baptismal cert.)
- Other Catholic families
- Non-Catholic applicants
Do non-Catholic students participate in religious activities?
Yes. All students take religion classes, participate in daily prayer, and attend weekly Mass.
Are families required to volunteer?
Yes — 60 hours/year or a $600 opt-out fee.
Note: Tuition is the same whether you opt in or out. Partial hours will be billed.

What is the focus of the TK program?
Our TK program bridges the gap between preschool and kindergarten, offering a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where young learners build confidence, social-emotional skills, and academic readiness for future success.
What are the age and readiness requirements for TK admission?
- Children must be 4 years old by September 1 of the academic year
- Children must be fully toilet-trained
- Preschool experience is highly encouraged
- A teacher recommendation is recommended (if applicable)
What does the Kindergarten program offer?
Our Kindergarten provides a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum aligned with Common Core standards, enriched by Catholic values and a supportive learning environment. Students are engaged in learning through technology integration, differentiated instruction, small group activities, and independent work.
