Retreats & Reflection
At St. Hedwig Catholic School, we believe that time for prayer, reflection, and retreat is essential to nurturing a strong and personal relationship with God. Throughout the year, students participate in age-appropriate retreats that encourage spiritual growth, build community, and deepen their understanding of their faith.
From quiet moments of personal reflection to shared experiences that strengthen bonds with classmates, these opportunities allow our students to step away from the everyday and encounter Christ in meaningful ways.
Retreats are an important part of forming hearts as well as minds — helping each student grow in faith, compassion, and purpose.
On Campus
Throughout the year, students participate in on-campus retreats designed to deepen their faith, build community, and encourage reflection. These retreats are led by a combination of parish priests, school staff, and trusted outside ministry groups, offering students meaningful opportunities to grow spiritually within a supportive and familiar environment.
Off Campus
Select grade levels participate in off-campus retreats in partnership with Sacred Heart Retreat Center and other local retreat centers in Orange and Los Angeles counties, depending on grade level. These retreats provide a fun and meaningful opportunity for students to grow in faith, strengthen friendships, and reflect in a peaceful, faith-filled setting away from the classroom.
Stations of the Cross
During Lent, students participate in the Stations of the Cross, walking through Jesus’ journey to the crucifixion. This powerful tradition encourages prayerful reflection, helping students connect more deeply with His sacrifice and grow in faith and empathy.
Living Rosary
The Living Rosary is a beautiful prayer service where students, staff, and parish members come together to pray the Rosary as one. Each participant represents a bead, leading a prayer aloud, until the entire Rosary is completed. This visual and spiritual experience helps our community honor Mary, reflect on the mysteries of Christ’s life, and join our hearts in prayer.
