COMMUNITY
It Takes a Village

Parents and guardians play a vital role in our community. Beyond being the primary
educators of their children, they serve as active ambassadors and contributors who help bring our mission to life. We offer a variety of events, activities, and opportunities for parents and guardians to engage in the life of the school beyond the classroom, enriching the experience for the whole family.

“Whether you’re new to St. Hedwig or a returning family, we’d love to have you get involved!
The PTO plays a big part in what makes our school community so special—and we can’t do
it without you. From morning traffic to lunch duty, event planning to making copies, there’s a
place for everyone to help. No experience needed—just a willing heart!
We’re excited for a fun and meaningful year ahead, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
Let’s make it a great year together!”
-Katie Diette, PTO President
Important Information
Morning Drop Off & Afternoon Pick Up
At St. Hedwig Catholic School, the safety of our students is our top priority. Our trained traffic supervisors and student safety patrol ensure that drop-off and pick-up times run smoothly and securely.
Morning Drop-Off
- The drop-off gate opens at 7:30 AM.
- Enter through Orangewood Avenue and follow the cones and the car in front of you.
- When your car is directed to stop, your child will exit the car safely.
- After drop-off, cars will be guided back onto Orangewood.
- Please do not park in the church parking lot—all families must use the drop-off lane.
There is valet drop off for TK and Kindergarten classes. Please follow the same procedures.
Afternoon Pick-Up
- The pick-up gate opens at 2:30 PM.
- Enter on Orangewood and park in rows as directed.
- At 2:45 PM, students will be dismissed and may walk to their cars when the green flag is raised.
- Students who walk or bike home must have written permission and a walker tag. They will exit onto Los Alamitos Blvd on the south side of the church.
- There are three pick-up cycles, but please arrive on time—students not picked up by 3:05 PM will be taken to the Extended School Day Program.
Parking will be available on the school yard during the first week of school for families.
Please be respectful of our neighbors at Good Shepherd Church and the surrounding neighborhood by utilizing the car line.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work together to ensure student safety.
