Reopening Plan for 2020-2021 School Year » Waiver for Grades TK-6

Waiver for Grades TK-6

We're hopeful for students and teachers to be able to return to campus in the fall, and continue to plan for a safe return.

After reviewing Governor Newsom's new mandates for re-opening schools, California Catholic Bishops are "urging the Governor to expedite regulations that will enable local health authorities to grant waivers to reopen schools for in-person instruction," says Dr. Erin Barisano, superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Orange.

In an effort to allow the governor time to act on this request, our first day of school has changed to Tuesday, September 8.

We have applied for the waiver.

I say this with full confidence: We are ready for any decision we receive. Thanks to our Fall Planning Team, teachers and staff, we have full schedules and plans to move forward with in-person instruction, a hybrid model or distance learning.

Based on the survey results, we understand that some of our families would prefer a distance learning model. SHS is proud to offer this option as well.
